Spiral heat exchangers are made of several parallel plates that are twisted around a central core. Fluid flow regime in these heat exchangers is highly turbulent with high Reynolds number, so these types of exchanger are suitable for the fluids with solid particles content.  Meanwhile, they have good performance for viscous fluids. Its smaller size compared to a similar exchanger of other types, reduced operating costs, easy cleaning, applying for fluids with fibers and suitability for heat-sensitive fluids are some other advantages of these type of heat exchangers. By applying appropriate material, the need for repair and maintenance of these type of exchanger will be minimized.
