The unconverted Sulfur species in tail gas of Sulfur Recovery Units used to be directed to the incinerator and finally burnt and released to the environment as SO₂. It is making many problems such as acidic rain, bronchitis, etc. In TGT unit, after hydrogenation of various Sulfur species and converting into H₂S, it will be absorbed using Amine and is introduced to Sulfur Recovery Unit to produce elemental Sulfur. By this method, SO₂ emission will be lowered significantly down to the environmental standard.
